This authentic colonial house from the 16th century even includes the
traditional Mayan guest house and the tropical garden. It has been
catalogued as an historic monument by the National Institute of
Anthropology and History (INAH) and its owner has made sure it is
preserved as such! All rooms have bold architectural detail with thick masonry walls, coved openings, high ceilings with beautiful wood beams and antique iron chandeliers. The kitchen is spacious and folkloric and open to a beautiful terrace and large lush garden with tall royal palms, an orchard of oranges, limes, bananas, grapefruit, hibiscus, heliconias, gingers, philodendra, ferns, etc. There is a gated driveway for off-street parking. It is located on a quiet street in the heart of old Merida and of the expatriot community near the Merida English Library, museums, theaters, shops, restaurants, the central plaza and Cathedral. There is also convenient transportation available to all the nearby Mayan ruins, beaches, haciendas, and subterranean
caves of Yucatan. The house was recently restored with new plumbing
and electrical systems (110/220v). It has two bedrooms, two baths,
laundry, maid and maintenance service and wireless broadband internet connection.
**RATES** Starting at $150 USD daily, $800 USD per week, $1,200 USD per 2 weeks, $1,800 per month and $1,600 per month with a 6-month contract. The rent includes house keeping and gardener twice a week and internet.
