Built in mid 1500, this villa is one of the few in the province of Pisa, personally inhabited by a direct descendant of the branch of the de'Medici family. In memory of this ancient origin, the villa has a large marble Medici crest above the main door that leads inside, comprising a large living room with a fireplace in grey sandstone and numerous rooms with wooden ceilings. The house, set in a small wood of 1 hectare with age-old oaks, fruit trees and lemon trees, consists of three floors with many windows adorned with pilasters of typical Florentine style, framed in grey sandstone and therefore conforming to the functional patterns typical of the buildings of the mid sixteenth century.
The property, purchased and restored by the current owners in the seventies, and now under the tutelage of the Fine Arts, is a large building that extends over two levels covering 1500mq but boasts an extra level entirely occupied by ancient cellars, fermentation rooms and a storage area as well as two charming towers that dominate on both sides of the house. The villa also enjoys an enviable view not only of the Leaning Tower of Pisa but also of the Apuan Alps and the mountains of Pisa.
